Evaluation
For my school magazine I decided to do a Sixth Form Montsaye Academy magazine edition. My colour scheme for the magazine was navy blue and royal purple because of the schools colours to link it to the magazine. For the copy I used different shades of yellow to show joy and happiness and the orange to show creativity and enthusiasm which is important to a school, I took the colours from the school logo to tie it in with the magazine. For the mast head I used the colour white for the writing in the font Bodoni MT Black because it has contrast against the navy blue background, therefore making it eye catching and attention seeking. To show the 'Sixth Form Edition' title I put it as a bubble down the bottom of the page I tried over ways to represent such as a star though I didn't feel like that worked as much as it's a Sixth Form Edition I wanted it to be more mature but a star made it look more childish so I decided on a bubble instead. I added a yellow banner to show the price because I thought it was pretty important for students to know it was free, instead of assuming it was free I used yellow because it stands out against the colour so it's bold and you can't miss it. I put the Montsaye logo on the magazine because I felt like it was missing something, also the logo's colour ties in with the colour of the font. I added the date to make it more realistic and seem like an actual edition, I also added "Education in Partnership" because it is Montsaye's slogan. What I really like about this magazine is the background image as it shows a Sixth Form student in the Sixth Form centre doing their work and you can see a hot chocolate in the background this indicates a relaxed atmosphere. If I could re-do the magazine cover I would change the font of the copy to loafs of different fonts to make it diverse.
In my contents page I used the same theme of navy blues and royal purples to link it to the cover and have a steady theme throughout. I included a On the cover, Features and Special news box on the page to make the magazine seem more legit and makes the student feel like they are reading something more mature. I used white font and blue boxes so students reading can easily identify what they are reading easily without struggle. I included three pictures on my contents, the first is the picture on the cover to link it to the feature story in the magazine and to the cover. The second photo is a picture of the Sixth Form Centre because the magazine is based for Sixth Form students. The last image I included was Mr Cummings the new Head Principle to link to the special news box as it is about any important up-coming news.
